Role overview
BIG is looking for an exceptional Visualization Specialist to join our NYC office. We are seeking an individual with creative flair, solid technical knowledge and skills, and experience in visual narrative projects. The ideal candidate is capable of contributing photorealistic imagery as well as mentor designers in the production of visuals. The Visualization Specialist will be able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills to coordinate multiple projects, a natural enthusiasm for mentoring, inspiring, and supporting other designers, and a curiosity to extend their skillset as well as BIG’s visualization and AI toolkits. What you will do
Primary Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in and contribute to the development of the visual culture at BIG through positive engagement with design team, development of the overall skillset of BIG’s designers, and proactive investigations into new methods of visualization technology, including AI.
- Create high-quality imagery under tight deadlines, and where applicable, animations and real-time simulations for both exteriors and interiors, in collaboration with and under the direction of design leads.
- Produce imagery that effectively communicates design intent to various stakeholders, including clients, collaborators, internal stakeholders, and the general public.
- Assist and inspire BIG’s designers through mentorship, from 1-on-1 support to office-wide training sessions.
- Connect, exchange and coordinate with Visualization Specialists in the other BIG offices.
- Maintain BIG’s libraries of licensed visual content, templates, materials.
- Manage visualization software accounts.
Expertise we seek
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional experience producing architectural renderings/visuals.
- Advanced knowledge of all aspects of CGI, rendering and animation methodology including but not limited to models, textures, shading, look development, scene management, composition, post-production and artificial intelligence.
- Mastery of Rhino, Vray, Enscape.
- Experience with D5, 3ds Max and/or other visualization software is a plus.
- Experimentation with Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI is a plus.
- Strong post-production skills in Photoshop, After Effects, AI apps.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - 90,000 depending on experience.
